AYBEE VLOG #7884 – We & The Music
Got a chance last Friday to play at a friends (DJ Said) party in SF. We & The Music is the latest installment from Said Adelekan a longtime Fatsouls Records label head, and Don of the SF Deep scene. Said has hosted several iconic names over the years such as Francois K., Ron Trent, Danny Krivit, and Dennis F. just to name a few so when I got the call I was more than honored. His Party is held monthly at 222 Hyde in SF which is home to an unbelievable sound system. I had an amazing time. Here are a few moments from the evening.
Introducing Shen-7…
We are excited to be working with a young producer who’s sound reaches far beyond his age (17). Look for Shen-7 on the upcoming Deepblak presents Blaktropolis vol.2 and a few things beyond…remember the name Shen-7.
The Age of Rap was nearing the end and the age of soulless music and overwhelming technology had begun to pick up speed. SHEN07, born Mushen Keita, falls in love with the permanent force of nature known as Soul. Both musically as well as artistically talented, he sets out on a venture that is still underway. Each day his talents and work are a step into the future. Mushen is an embodiment of Soul, a creative individual.
Mushen lived in a world of silence until age 5 when he regained hearing, and underwent speech therapy. Life was relentlessly a struggle in every dimension, and to be this far in life is still the same miracle. Creativity is the only niche that was given to him and has proven to be his strongest quality. He soon found himself investing time in Music, which led to Piano lessons. Possessing prodigy qualities in writing Hip-Hop Music, he considers Music to be his principle skill and main focus in life.
With an intelligent, smooth, melodious approach, Mushen provides thoughtful sounds while provoking imagery. Determined to provide something new, Mushen creates and expresses something that is more complex than Hip-Hop music. An innovator at heart, he searches for deeper meaning within his art forms as well as his soul.
