Got a chance to hang with the Deconstruct boy’s before their respective gigs. Levon heading out to Leipzig, and Anthony in from NY on deck at Berghain. Discussing socks, music, and my atlas pancake problem…
A few moments from Tresor (Berlin) withJoey Anderson and Steven Tang. Back Story > Joey flew in from NY with just a thin hoodie on so by the time he got on his bones had been thoroughly chilled by Berlin, but he went on to play a great set.
Damon chimes in from his kitchen on samples, and inspiration for the Nommo EP.
Enroute to a session with Damon Bell (aka D-Bo). Music: Damon Bell – Heru | from his forthcoming “Nommo” EP
A few moments from the 1st SoN’y Rays which is Deepblak’s quarterly gathering diving into LIVE cosmic beats, rhythms, and space travel from the Deepblak cast & fam. Here are a few seconds of what was an amazing set up of Afrikan Sciences, AYBEE, LA Beat Master Dibia$e, and EPS1 of Blaktroniks all wired to jam LIVE. Unfortunately our videographer had to cancel so we don’t have much footage, but you can get an idea of the mode… prepping for 02 stay locked.
A few minutes from the “The Bandwagon Podcast” at Halcyon in Brooklyn. Myself, Fred P., JD, and the mighty Jay Locke holding it down for a few hours. Pursuit Grooves came thru, and shared a few words about her upcoming Deepblak debut under her “91 Fellows” moniker. It was great day with stunning weather in NY. Great people, space, and music. Respect to Taimur, and the Halcyon staff for having us out.
A few moments from the Secresundaze 2012 season opening party. A truly amazing day, and great music by All involved. Secretsundaze purveyor’s Giles Smith & James Priestly opened and closed the day off class fashion. Did not film any of my set as totally forgot about my cam til the end of my set. Started filming after, and captured bits of Wbeeza’s amazing (LIVE) set along with the mighty Deetron after. So good to connect with London Fam. Definitely a day that will be replayed in my mind for years to come. Love Respect and Power to ALL involved.
and… The Official Vid for the party via Secretsundaze Crew…
Opening minutes from my Live set at Realtime in (SF) 4.13.12. Massive respect to Jonah Sharp and Emilio Orlandi Giraudbit for the invite. Your set was killer, and very tough to follow. Maaan was i nervous…but fun none the less. If your in or around SF check for their monthly Realtime party at 222 Hyde. All Live no DJ’s…

Weekend runnings that start off Friday night with two of my favorite people in Dibiase & Nasrockswell of 10-Thirty Records. Grabbed a nice dinner (thanks Nas!) before Dibiase’s show with Tokimonsta, and Knxwledge. Got a chance to rap about Dibiase’s Bulls, and my concerns about them in the playoffs… Saturday I connected with Ron Trent who was in town for a gig. Good times per usual. Started work on our follow up to I.S.P’s “Across The Universe”, and was recommended a few unseen Boondock’s episodes the Ron suggested I allow into my conscience… Saturday night I caught Brendon Moeller performing LIVE in SF. He was laying down some great sounds, but unfortunately my vid did not come out to good so it did not make the Vlog. All in ALL a good weekend always begins, and ends with good people… here are a few moments.
From moments from Damon Bell’s record release party at Room 389 in Oakland for “Kush Musik Wax”
Recently got a chance to catch the bredren DJ QU (Strength Music, NJ/NY) in his 1st SF appearance. I am a big fan of what QU has been doing with his productions really carving out an interesting space for his sound within the Deephouse world. While many are attracted to the dark elements that QU laces his joints with I am attracted to the consistent swing he applies. The groove never let’s you forget he’s a dancer 1st. Respect to Jeremy and crew for bringing Qu westward. Here are a few moments from the eve…
The Mighty Ron Trent was in town this past weekend to get down with Damon Bell at his Loose Joints party in SF. A fantastic opportunity to hear some great music delivered by one of the masters of the Art, and get in some sorely need catch up time/building. When Ron comes to town it’s never a problem getting the Jedi Council together as heads know this will be one of the few opportunities to conjure the electromagnetic frequencies that are needed for sustenance. With laser precision Ron delivered. Transporting SF’s packed Make Out Room into dance-floors past, present, and future at the same time. Below are some moments from the evening, but before you indulge I want to make something’s clear.
There is a beautiful sequence where two of the dancers (Paul Atkinson and Patrick Wilson) get into what we call releasing the God-Self. Understand that this is an alcohol/drug free exchange of Rhythmic Call and Response. What you are witnessing is not two guys dancing, but the Spirit using their physical bodies(the host) to respond to the Call for which Ron is the conduit. This is an essential element of the Science for which we partake. The Rhythm is not profane…understand this. With that stated enjoy. Love and Light to ALL.

Saturday 3.26.11 Afrikan Sciences took the helm of Oakland’s trailblazing party thePeople. Bringing to close a beautiful month that celebrated the arrival of Afrikan Sciences heralded 1st album “Means and Ways“. To see this performance in front of the home crowd further elevated the drumbeat that many are starting to catch wind to. Oakland is mapping a new territory onto it’s self in regards to all things Deep/Electric and Soul. Something Indigenous, something Beautiful, something Other. Massive love to ALL that participated in this evening. We are Deeply moved… A Historic night indeed.
